They will root to cork bark or<br \/>driftwood. and grow epiphytically. Orchidaceae, commonly referred to as the Orchid family, is<br \/>a morphologically diverse and widespread family of monocots.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div style=\"float: right; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 10px;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.rainforeststationpets.com\/zencart\/images\/plants\/orchids\/Cattleya-aurantiaca.jpg?w=660\" alt=\"\" align=\"right\" hspace=\"5\" vspace=\"5\" \/><br \/><\/span><\/span>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\"><br \/><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Cattleya aurantiaca bloom<\/span><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>It is the<br \/>second largest family of flowering plants, with between 21,950 and<br \/>26,049 currently accepted species, in 880 genera.<\/p>\n<p><br style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">The largest<br \/>genera are Bulbophyllum (2,000 species), Epidendrum (1,500 species),<br \/>Dendrobium (1,400 species) and Pleurothallis (1,000 species).<br \/><br style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\" \/><\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">The<br \/>family also includes Vanilla (the genus of the vanilla plant), Orchis<br \/>(type genus) and many commonly cultivated plants like some Phalaenopsis<br \/>or Cattleya. Since the introduction of tropical species in the 19th<br \/>century, horticulturists have produced more than 100,000 hybrids and<br \/>cultivars.<\/span><br style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\" \/><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">The complex mechanisms which orchids evolve to achieve<br \/>cross-pollination were investigated by Charles Darwin and described in<br \/>his 1862 book Fertilisation of Orchids.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><br \/><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><br \/><span style=\"font-size: large;\">**************<\/span><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Please stop by and see us.
